I remember once in high school, I was looking through a magazine and I was baffled by the amount of perfume ads that seem to sexualize women. I was talking to a friend about it and she shrugged her shoulders and stated, "Well, sex sells." So since it does seem to sell, why is that? And what is the price we are paying for this?
In this Jimmy Choo ad, the position of this woman is something I would consider very sexual. Though it seems that she is wearing a long dress, it hardly covers the areas it needs to on her body. Her breasts are flat with her sternum showing and the position of her arms really objectifies her. It took me a while to even notice the perfume bottle she is holding because my eyes were immediately drawn to the position of her body.
