This fashion ad for Barney's New York portrays a woman who is posed as a little girl. Her thumb is in her mouth and she is leaning on her knees. It almost looks as if she is pouting or being reprimanded for being naughty. This image and others like it has been a big factor in sexualizing women. Ads create this idea that if they can get a woman to seem weak or younger than they are, men will want them because they can have power over them. This teaches men that it is ok to be in charge of women, therefore objectifying them instead of seeing them as equals.
